Throughout the year teachers will plan activities that provide the children in the Four’s Class with opportunities to:
- Learn about God’s love through Bible stories, songs of faith, prayer and scripture memorization.
- Grow in their awareness of God’s good creation through hearing stories, witnessing the world around them, and participating in science/nature projects.
- Develop friendships, good communication skills and an understanding of good manners.
- Develop large muscles through experiences that allow children to run, gallop, hop, balance, march, play instruments and move to music.
- Develop small muscles through experiences that encourage the children to draw, write with pencils, paste, paint, work puzzles, work with manipulatives, button, zip, lacing and cut with scissors.
- Do simple math, sequencing, and become familiar with the concept of money.
- Increase their vocabulary and awareness of the alphabet (both visually and phonetically).
- Write their whole name (first and last).
- Care for their bodies through events that help children develop good health habits such as washing hands, using a tissue, brushing teeth, eating a healthy diet and exercising.
